dyei nightmare
hi i just wanna know how to make a good animated flag in houdini with cloth and dops, im not getting enough deformation with wind force dop, at least not the level of detail im looking for. im looking to make something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqwoQBpYukI while using a high wind force to have the flag more extended, but im not geting good results at all. michiel
You'll get more realistic results with cloth if you use the "Drag parameters" on the cloth object, instead of the DOP wind force. You should set the "External Velocity Offset" to your wind velocity. To get the right rolling behavior, you need to tweak the "Normal Drag" and the "Tangent Drag". You would typically set the "Normal Drag" to a much higher value than the "Tangent Drag".
