self shadow image plane or pass

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was hoping that somebody could post an example of how to export self shadow (ray traced shadows) image plane or mantra pass from Mantra Surface shader in H11. It was mentioned in the following forum that one of the options is to set up an luminance loop but it was too complicated for me to understand what Michael is talking about without having an example to look at :) so please share if you have done something like that in the past.

PS My objects are opacity map cut-outs if that makes any difference.

Thanks

The easiest way is to use the pre-made shadow and noshadow image planes available when rendering PBR. Perhaps that is good enough for you?

Thanks for the replay,

hm I am still a bit confused how to set it up. I tried adding shadow, noshadow as a VEX (float / vector) Variable on mantra but dint get any data on those planes when rendered with ray-trace or PBR.

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

Thanks

PS I am newbie on mantra rendering :)
