lestdog
New to houdini here. This is probably a simple question but what does the input 2 of the copy sop mean? You have input one which is the object being copied and input to which is the ' template to copy to '. What is an example of a template that you would copy to? Thanks
rebo
Anything point based really, for instance the output from a POP net (copy a metaball say to every particle point). I dont think i should say point based, because its more like anything with point attribute information. So putting a box in the right input will copy to every vertex on the box. If your looking to duplicate you can use the duplicate SOP.
lestdog
Thanks for the reply, I just couldn't figure out what the point of a duplicare sop and a cop sop were. Now I see they are differen't. It's cool to know this is how I can drive metaballes with particles this way. Thanks!
edward
oh, there's so much more cool stuff you could do with the copy sop ... check out the pinned effects challenges like the Sun Burn one.
