Emitting smoke from particles

Hi all.

I a mtryin toemit smoek form particles in H11.

It has changed from H10, so I am using Source Apply DOP and setting it to Build SDF from particles.

When I uncheck the Attribute parameter it works, but it emits as density 1 for all points.

But when I crate my own density attribute, with a value like 1 - $LIFE it doesn't emit anything.

I have been checking into the Source Apply OTL and everything seems to be ok, so I am wondering if I am missing something.

Thanks

I think i have it working. It has to be multiplied into the source, but it seems to be working. Make sure that your attribute isn't super tiny?

Hope this helps!

Thanks crin, seems to be working.

It is similar but this measn that emission by attribute is broken in Source Apply DOP?

oops! i think i see what you are talking about. It seems to be working for me again. You could also try converting your particles to a field in SOPS using the attribute as density. (converting your geometry to volumes in SOPS is much more efficient)

This one is not working for me. I have a similar setup but got the same problem with your scene.

I have tried to build a volume from my particles density attribute but I dont know how to use it in the Source Apply, seems it doesn't like volumes for emissio, probably just with a gas calculate addind my volume from the particles to the volume field would be enough.

But again I think that emission from particles attribute is broken in Source Apply DOP.

?

Thanks Macha.

I got the same problem as with crin scene. If I set emission by density attribute in Build From PArticles it doesn't work, well it emits a little of density deon the center of the grod nothing else.

But when I multiple the emission by density, and uncheck emit using density attribute it works.

I am going to send an email for SESI this is looking really weird.
