centroid

I am trying to scale in primitives based on the area of a metaball magnet, and I want the prims to use their own center point. i have tried 2 different ways, but neither are working.

the first I create an attribute and store the centerpoint of each prim using $CEX,Y,Z. that gives me centers when i check the spreadsheet but went I try to plug that into the pivot into the magnetSOP it appears that it doesn't have any effect.

same thing happens if I directly call the centroid function within the magnetSOP pivot.

here is an example.
