Barakooda
I have case with tons of polygons on screen, If some one can write few hints how to deal with it in Houdini it will be very helpful. for example how and when i should render geometry to hard drive. Right now my computer explode and reached the RAM limit... I added little video. While I`m look for ways to deal with it my self, I will happy to hear what the the Houdini High Council have to say . Thanks guys ! B. test_grow_net.mp4.zip
pclaes
What you need is to learn about instancing and delayed loads, I've explained a bit about it on a post on my blog: http://www.peterclaes.be/blog/?p=34 Also search this forum and the houdini help for "delayed load" and "instance". And Jeff's post on instancing might help you too: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1050&Itemid=216 Edited June 5, 2011 by pclaes

symek
There is not much to say more, than Peter already said. Your scene seems to be easy to render. It's a view-port that gets you down. Use proxy geometry if you need to preview objects in Houdini and/or instances and/or delayed loads in rendering - also possibly no micro-polygon mode nor render-time subdivisions (both eat a lot more memory with instances than pure ray trace / PBR, so depending on a number of instances in your scene, you should consider turning these off).
