David Gary
This looks like a silly question but ... Is there a way to easily translate VEX (.vfl) shaders into .sl shaders (or compile them directly to slc, slo ...) because the VEX and sl languages are very very similar ( a few functions to rename ) and it would be nice to visually build renderman shader networks. The integration between renderman and Houdini would be perfect. Does such a tool exist? ("a vfl parser") thx for help!
Stremik
Looks like Genshade able to do it. ------------------------------------------------- And it only runs on IRIX!
David Gary
Nevermind! I think i can write something which converts vex functions into SL functions by defining new functions in SL ( and maybe a find-and-replace tool for attributes...). Because my idea was to use directly the vop network. thx anyway.
