asnowcappedromance
Hey guys, so I'm struggling with this effect, I got a sword which I'm supposed to bend by applying a waveform(sinewave)-like motion. Right now I'm creating the bending effect with a point sop + sin expression, but I'm having some problems here. Is there some easier way to do this? Also, is it possible to group the bending points with a softselection / falloff (so the hilt is not affected) ?? thanks, Manuel
lukeiamyourfather
This would be best done with a VOP SOP where you will have full control over the point manipulation.

lukeiamyourfather
hm how would you create a soft selection in vops? can you give me some more clues? Something like this. Though there's probably a thousands ways to do it depending on the specifics and requirements of the shot. wobbleExample.hip
asnowcappedromance
thanks a lot for helping me out man ! Yeah, attribute transfer is the way to go, just create a value between 0 and 1 and multiply it sweet !
