Fluid Simulation Shading/Rendering

Hi everyone,

This might be a very banal question, but I wanna make sere I can make some presentation stuff decently..

I have a fluid simulation and I want to present it at its say unshaded stage.. Here is a reference of the look I'm trying to achieve:

Is it everything just Ambient Occlusion or is it a different rendering/shading set-up? Because in my case the simulation looks very flat..

Any clarification would be mostly welcome.
