jim c
In Vue there's an option to render out the scene as spherical 180 degree view, something that can then be used as an HDR image. Is this possible in Houdini? I know there's a way to bake out a texture given some geometry and a UV map, but is there a way to get the scene it self onto the texture map? Any suggestions? Erik_JE
I don't think you can render out a spherical environment map but you can render out a cubic map. The process is described in the docs. http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini11.1/rendering/cubicenvmap Just using isixpack is a pain as you need to setup all cameras by yourself to create the images it needs. jim c
OK thanks guys. Erik_JE, in the thread that phs linked to, I think the first link, someone mentions spherical projection, or at least that's kind of what I understood. I'll look into this. Erik_JE
That's nice. Even easier than the cubic method.
