object render properties?

Hi,

I need some help.

I need an object to be visible in reflections but be invisible to the camera.

I know how to do it in max. You can just go to object properties and turn off "visible to camera".

I believe with mental ray, there is a ray switcher material where you can independently control/shade every type of ray, eye/camera, relfection, refraction etc.

Is there anything like that in Mantra.

In the OBJ level, you'll find the geometry containers have a tab called Render. The Phantom parameter will do what you want.

Now, controlling rays in mantra is totally possible, but you'll have to understand shader building a bit more in-depth. Mental Ray already has those controls implemented and exposed as a shader, in houdini you'd have to build your own for now.
