jim c
Let's say I use the Copy sop to generate a variety of boxes along a series of points generated by a Scatter SOP from a grid. So in the course of this I will end up with boxes in the middle of the area which are not visible anymore and could be deleted. Is there any way in Vops (or some other node) to determine this? moondeer
SYmek suggested toNDC on another topic. converting to camera space and returning a 0-1 for line of site to the camera. maybe there is a solution here? http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini11.1/vex/functions/toNDC eetu even dropped a hip to check. Macha
You could probably draw rays from the object to the camera and see if they reach the camera first. You get a rayhit att I believe or can just transfer an attribute. If it is fast or efficient and worth the trouble, I dont know... It won't be too precise either because you have to ray from points and if you decide to scatter it could be lots.
