edward
I'm probably the least qualified to answer that one here but for what's it worth there was a sketch on this just this past siggraph. From here, http://www.siggraph.org/s2003/conference/s...ketches/21.html Avalanche! Snowy FX for "XXX"The technique developed to create a fully computer-generated avalanche for the feature film "XXX" using Houdini and a proprietary voxel renderer: VoxelB-. Alan Kapler Digital Domain There was also a sketch on VoxelB by Alan in last year's siggraph as well on the "Evolution of a VFX voxel tool" where it featured pics of the water horses in Lord of the Rings 1 and the eoriding arch effect in The Time Machine. According to the brief, VoxelB has also been featured in The Grinch That Stole Christmas. Red Planet, X-Men 1. Quite a versatile tool!
