magneto Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 Just downloaded it and was checking the preferences. Are we supposed to use OpenGL 3.2 in the viewport settings? Also I am not up to day with the latest OpenGL so checked online and they have 4.2 available. Will Sidefx eventually upgrade to 4.2 or is it based on needs? symek Posted March 3, 2012 Share Posted March 3, 2012 OpenGL version numbers doesn't behave like drivers or Houdini builds versioning. You don't have to be up to date with API version to stay modern. It basically means Houdini doesn't need features provided by newer standard. Note that OSX has just proudly upgraded to OGL3.2 after years of advanced GUI rendered actually by OGL 2.1! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
