vfxstudent
HI , having let's say 10 chain bones with IK ,is it possible to group all the goal null of the ik and associate all of them to each particle of a pop source in order to drive the bones with prticles? thanks a lot . Annon
I'm sure it would be one way or another. It's a very open ended question, so can't give a better answer than that I'm afraid...
edward
I'm confused about the question, do you mean you have 10 *single bone* IK chains? If yes, then one way is to get the particle positions into CHOPs (via Geometry CHOP by way of SOPs), and then massage the names to export to the IK affector objects. vfxstudent
Hi, thanks all for the posts, Yep edward I have let's say 10 arms with IK. normally i keyframe the ik affector... now i want it driven by the particle position. I got your suggestion partially , what do u mean with :" and then massage the names to export to the IK affector objects.".. thanks a lot VV I'm confused about the question, do you mean you have 10 *single bone* IK chains? Netvudu
I think what you are asking is as simple as using a point expression on the transform channels for the IK handle, and use that expression to get the x,y and z coordinates of the P attribute for each of the particles. The problem of course comes in case you want to do this for 100 or 1000 chains instead of 10, where a more procedural method should be researched. Maybe CHOPs would play heavily there... anim
here is an example how to export position from particles to IK goals using CHOPs ik_to_particles.hipnc
