DaveT.
Hi- Can anyone tell me what I need to use in order to use masks (if that is what they are called in Houdini). Basically, I want to be able to create a group like in dops where everything within the group uses certain settings and everything outside the group has different settings. I have set fire to an object and want specific settings on parts of the object and different settings on other parts of the object. Any ideas? Thanks! lukeiamyourfather
Geometry attributes can be used to control many aspects of a simulation (velocity, density, etc.). Or multiple sources can be setup with differing geometry and parameters. What specifically do you want to control?

I have actually decided to go for a different look for my project. Now I am trying to create the fire effect that you see here: Any ideas on how I can go about achieving the fire effect from the windows? I tried applying a wind node to push the fire around but it's not working out so hot(no pun intended). If you have time to take a peek at my file and give me your feedback, I would appreciate it. I want the fire to first push out in the z direction and then curl up in the y. If you could also give me some pointers on how to control the shape will still keeping it looking out of control and wild, I would appreciate it very much. Thanks! windowFire.hipnc
