magneto
The help file shows there is a SOP with that name but I can't find it. Is it obsolete? http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini12.0/nodes/sop/delete_overlapping_polygons Thanks.
graham
It's not available in the tab menu. You'll have to instantiate it through hscript/HOM.
magneto
Thanks Graham, that's good to know
graham
As the help card states, it's mainly designed to remove overlapping and duplicate proxy geometry generated by the old autorig tools. It's not particularly fast or flexible. It was probably the first Python SOP I ever wrote way back in the day. There might be a slightly better version available on www.houdinitoolbox.com but if so, I don't know that it's really that much more useful.
magneto
I didn't know you wrote that one. Sweet Any other cool operators you made when you were at Sidefx? I imagine most, if not all python operators
tjeeds
Also if you are using 12 the PolyDoctor and Clean SOPs will both take care of overlapping polys..
magneto
Thanks Jesse. So in case of best practices, how can you find out which operators are preferred? It seems like some of these operators listed in the help file are sort of redundant, i.e. something else is preferred.
edward
Prefer ones which you can find on the TAB menu.
