I havent had a look at your file yet but is that "Mutiple Scattering intensity" as the second parameter. 5 seems very high form any tests i have done.

As for point clouds, the physical sss is best for generating the pc files since its in a vop context there my best some lookup or connection if you have a displacement shader also going into the output node so if you are displacing. The pc will be using the final displaced geometry as reference. (This had my head spinning when i was doing tests).

But your situation sounds weird, even after you turn all your lights off there is a HeadLamp generation option in the MAntra node if you have no lights in your scene and with your Mutli SSS intensity set at 5 could give a blown out effect.

Again some of this might not be any help at all, i will take a look at the file an see if i can spot anything that could be the problem.
