JuriBryan
hello everybody:) I have a quick question. I am trying to create a "magic" effect by using a pyro simulation to advect particles that will be rendered later. The problem is though that I created the look that I want in pyros, but the velocity field looks different then the density field. So I volume merged them together with a multiplication and now the vel field looks like the density field and is still a vector field. The problem is that the particles are now "freaking out" they don't really follow the velocity field anymore. Any ideas on why that is happening? Cheers, Juri magic_002.hipnc
lukeiamyourfather
Emit the magic particles from the same source as the density for the volume simulation and they will mimic the density in the volume inherently. There's no need to manipulate the velocity or density of the volume to get things to advect like you'd expect. See the attached image.
