venkateshkongathi
Hi guys I'm new to Houdini. I'm using Houdini 12 for my project and I need to render Light Passes with 4 different area lights of Dummy Geometry. Its taking too much time to render with soft shadows with less noise. I'm wondering Is there any way to optimize my renders to get faster render-times.
lukeiamyourfather
Keep the render samples and pixel samples on the Mantra node as low as you can and then increase the samples on the light object to improve the shadow quality. There's no silver bullet because it will simple take a lot of samples but that should help some depending on how you're doing things now. woodenduck
Are you using deep shadow maps or raytracing? Switching from the default raytracing to shadow maps can speed things up a lot.
