Volume Rendering

Hello.

Found an interesting site http://magnuswrenninge.com/productionvolumerendering

There's two parts of the volume rendering. It shows an example Field3d, i'm find this thing in houdini but no clue which way to approach this and what to do.

Tell me where do I start or I'm reading the wrong information.

How can logically conclude I am looking for information about the volume rendering.

Thanks in advance =)

Your question is kinda confusing.

What exactly you want to know?

The paper talks about Field3D because it's open source, so you can check the code.

http://opensource.imageworks.com/?p=field3d

What do you mean by "where do I start?"

Yes, you're looking the right information about volume rendering. But maybe it's way too technical for a non-coder.

This paper is useful background on how to go about writing a volume renderer and a file format for storing volumes. Fortunately Houdini already comes with probably the best volume renderer on the market: mantra. It also comes with a comprehensive set of volume modelling tools, which allow you to do almost whatever you want. This and the following two videos https://vimeo.com/7049140 provide an introduction to volumes in Houdini.

I want to know how create and rendering volumes.

I wanted to know in what programming language it is written, is it worth it to learn and if there is then I start.

There is an opinion that renderman faster.

I can not find a better way to learn Houdini. Read the help is not very productive, and the video tuts is generally considered the basics.

By the way thanks for the video =)
