gramx
Hi Stuck! I am doing a test where I have exported the whitewater spray to a bgeo cache. I am then reading it back in and using a particlefluidsurface to mesh it. I am trying to use attribute copy to copy the normals from the mesh onto the particles. Not working yet! I want to read the closest point to surface and add the normal direction to the attributes of the particle so that I can then render particles with surface normals in krakatoa. I am exporting PRT. I also want to do the same thing to the particles of a flip fluid. Thanks for any help. Graham
Fabiano Berlim
Attribute Copy only does it by point number. If you want by proximity you should use Attribute Transfer.
gramx
Thanks, I will give that a try!
Filipp Elizarov
OR you can transfer any attibute you want through VOP SOP point cloud. It will give you much more control if you need it and I think it will work faster than attribute transfer sop.Attached scene file. atrib_transfer_pcloud.hip
gramx
I've got it working with the Attribute transfer there are some good examples in the help! Thanks for the hip file Filipp I will take a look at that, a bit of extra speed will be a good thing when I try it with 20million particles! Thanks for help! graham Edited April 8, 2013 by gramx
