Save rig pose to a clip and then load back in

I've built a rig DA and I was wondering if there's a way to write a python script that saves the current "pose" of the rig to a bclip, and then also allows for reading the pose back from the bclip. I'm pretty sure how to build a simple Chop network that does this with the File chop, but that means diving into the asset, right clicking the File chop, etc. I was hoping to have two buttons on the DA that lets you just read or write the current pose (or potentially even a range of animation?) I've seen some potentially useful functions in the python ChopNode, but they are all marked as not implemented (see saveClip). Any suggestions?
