Why I attribute modification is invalid in DOPs and why attribute valu

Hi guys,

Need your help here,

I am doing some wire simulation, when I trying to modify the klinear attribute based on another attribute trigger in sop solver, it doesn't work and doesn't affect linear spring constant at all.

so I tried to refer this trigger attribute in SOPs where I create klinear attribute via prim("/obj/AutoDopNetwork:curve_object3/Geometry",1,"trigger",0), again it doesn't work either,

Anybody knows the reason and solution?

Thanks very much,

Kind regards

no need for SOP Solver

just make sure your Rest Geometry coming from SOPs (by default the same as wire geometry) contains the klinear (or other) animated attribute

then just check Use Deforming Geometry on Wire Object, which makes sure that Rest Geometry is updated each frame from SOPs, it will not owerwrite simulated Geometry as it is the case with RBD, just Rest Geometry

or if you need to do SOP solver way(with Use Deforming off), you need to run it on RestGeometry data instead of Geometry data

Hey Tomas

Just looking into changing the klinear/kangular attributes on a per-guide basis, but don't seem to be able to get it to work & make any difference to the sim.

Any idea what I could be doing wrong or be able to share a hip file at all?

Cheers Dan
