noisy henyeygreenstein with pbr

I've been rendering some clouds and atmospheric effects using PBR and the phase BSDF a lot, and notice with high forward or backward scattering coefficients there is a lot of undesirable noise near the peak.

Is there any way to reduce this outside of more samples or transparency samples?
