daehuck
Hi guys, nowdays Im studying Pyro FX And I have a question. I've learned heat is represented by flame and temperature is temperature that can influnce movement of smoke and flame and etc... But I found there is a difference between flame shelf and explosion shelf. In the setting of flames shelf node Emission Field is temperature and Emission Color Field is heat but, in explosions' Emission Field is heat and Emission Color Field is temperature Im so confusing... Why they have a opposite option? Also, what is exact difference between heat and temperature? Can i get an answer? Any Comments will help for me. rayman
This is just the visualisation parameters, so think of them as an artist. These settings does not affect simulation. Probably it just looks better this way (: Edited August 31, 2013 by rayman

Peter Quint
Rayman is right - the heat and temperature fields are closely related, and this is all about look, if it looks good use it. I suspect if you swapped the values you might get a very similar result (let me know if you don't). If either heat or temperature is low you will get very little emission in both versions of the shader above - because either the multiplier (Emission field) will be low, and/or the colour will be black, and so won't be visible.
