Guest tar
What's the best way to export FontSop geo into Nuke? Currently there are 'bonus' faces and holes when viewing/rendering in Nuke. Would test it in Maya but my machine is free of that right now Also tested using the sort sop, no difference. A.hip A.abc.zip
mangi
Hi Marty Just change the font size and you will fix this issue Here are the files that a fixed Mangi A_font_size2.hipnc A_abc.rar Edited January 4, 2014 by mangi
Guest tar
Very cool, thanks Mangi! That does work. Next test was applying same thing to more characters, with more detail but it had the same original problem. I'm wondering what the size is doing to fix the issue and is there a forumla or nodes to use to fix it. Edit: Looks like any 'holed' polygons aren't well supported in Nuke. malexander
Try passing the font SOP through a divide SOP with sides=3. The font SOP can generate concave polygons with a ridiculous number of edges, so I wouldn't necessarily fault Nuke.
Guest tar
Cool, thanks! divide by 3 seems to bullet proof. Very cool to know. Interestingly, in Houdini, the PolyDoctorSop also destroys geo created with FontSop, it's seems to not like ill-formed, 5+ sided and non-convex parts of it. It even doesn't like the divided version! Tough doctor!!
