Whatsinaname
Currently I'm wondering how to improve performance for the creation and I/O for collision objects. In my scene, there is a tube that acts as collision volume, loaded in a static object. I created a volume from the original geometry outside of DOPs and set that as a proxy volume, but that doesn't seem to help anything. Houdini gets into meditation mode and takes ages until it comes up with something, then, wehn trying to write that to file or anything else inside the static object's parameters window, it gets into meditatiion mode again and I need to wait for ages. However, just oading the original Volume from which Houdini will derive the volume to use inside DOPs just works quickly, but as an example, when I uncheck Display Geometry, Houdini goes to sleep for 45mins or so, not using any large or suspicious amount of RAM or CPU. Also, when I just set it to Read Files and try loading a bgeo form that object that was created and works in a differen DOP net, it takes ages. The object itself isn't escpecially large (23/13/39, scale default meters). Is there any way I can check what might be causing the troubles or what I might try to optimize the scene, because working like that it is far from efficient.
