tigger
Thanks for the reply Shawn! It's encouraging to hear that I fit the target audience. Sounds like I should be pretty well equipped to learn a bunch from the course. I'm really looking forward to getting started! I like your definition of a TD. It gave me a better understanding of who a TD is. I knew generally what was meant by the term with respect to tools and responsibilities. I'm super interested in visual effects, and TD is the role that most interests me, so I've searched around a bit to learn about it. But it is great to hear an explanation from someone who lives it. I just met Andrew a couple weeks ago. Super great, super smart guy! And Robert's work is so inspiring. His early Processing stuff is what lead me into "creative coding". I've heard cinderdome stories from Steve; sounds like a fun time!
yourdaftpunk
Just a quick heads up- the course starts soon and there are still a few openings. This is probably the last time I will run the VEX course. Hopefully everyone gets in! -shawn PS: May the odds be ever in your favor.
yourdaftpunk
Just a quick heads up, VEX in Houdini is running for a third term and slots are still available. Week 1 starts on July 6th: http://www.cgsociety.org/training/course/vex-in-houdini I've been updating materials for Houdini 14 and started covering the useful changes. CVEX is taking over, dummy-nulls are resigned to the history books, and isn't that wrangle parameter script award worthy? Can that get VES statue? Cheers -shawn
