Writing geometry color information to texture

For something like a wetmap effect I need to write an object's color information to a texture map, based on the object's UVs. Unfortunately, I have no clue how that works, so any suggestions are more than welcome. In order to illustrate the problem a bit, I attached my file so you can probably see what I am about to.

 

...the reason for doing so is the texture will be used in a different 3d application.
