dulo
I have created an animation of a rubber tube ( from a gas station ) with the wiresolver by setting the end vertices to pintoanimation and grabbing those points with a bone. As you can see in the screenshot there is a hard border between pintoanimation and the simulation. How can I smooth out this border region ? michael
are you capturing just the anim point with the bone or more? can you post you scene...there are a couple of ways to do this...
dulo
Here is the scene file. Any help is very much appreciated.. TubeWireSolver.zip
michael
try this...I went a little overboard, added a different workflow the tube geo itself isn't really that great - you may want to also subdivide it way up at the top as it comes in... hope this helps TubeWires_smoother_new_workflow.hip
dulo
Thanks a lot. It took me some time to understand the whole setup, but it seems to work great !!
michael
glad to help simulating the wires instead of the geometry is way faster, and you can refine the curves for lots of control - and the wirecapture/deform tools are good/fast
dulo
You grouped one 'edge' by modulo 16 selecting the point index .. is there a way to do grouping by edge-loop selection ?? I mean just select two edges to give the direction and then select the whole edge non-interactive. Just from the node ?
michael
I don't think so...IIRC edge loops (and related tools) have been RFE'ed for years
