henrik.g
Hey everyone! I am creating several effects for a student film at our university. One of them would be to have an maelstorm at the center of an lake. You know, this kinda thing: I found this video by ILM where they kinda give hint on what they did for pirates 3 ) and tried to learn from it but now I am stuck... Maelstorm.mov is my FLIP Sim right now. So I have got the deformation at the center and the circular motion. I Could not work Out thier Gravity Deformation Effect so Right now I am just moving them towards the center. An ideas on that would be a plus! But I want to blend between two Ocean Spectra to have the calm Lake Surface of my original Ocean Spectrum. So I try to blend the generated Amplitude from the Ocean Spectrum in Volume VOP. That does not seem to work for some reason properly. Another thing I have problems with: If I Increase the Rotation Speed of my Particles which generate the velocity they slowly move outwards. I understand WHY they do that, yet I could not come up with an proper solution to stop them from doing so. It would be very kind if someone could take a look at the file. Any other idead to get these "circular stretched waves" in the center are very much welcome! Thanks so much in advance! henrik.g
Okay... I realised what I am trying to achieve is not going to work because the volumes are just processed in the coean evaluate ad then go from there.... So... Any ideas on how to better flatten the ocean towards the sides would be much appreciated Maybe simulate two times and then blend the VDB Volumes towards the sides? kleer001
Not entirely on topic, but #1 thing I would recommend is getting the camera locked down. It may seem kinda early in the process, but a locked off camera will make you life so much easier. You won't have to worry about things that won't be seen. henrik.g
Hi Kleer! The "SceneCam" is locked down. That would be my final shooting angle.
