asnowcappedromance
Hey guys, In H14, we're supposed to be able to script the new visualization stuff with python, this is from the docs: "New scriptable and extensible visualizer architecture replaces the custom attribute controls in the display options." Does anybody have an idea how to access this? I went through the docs but I couldn't find anything about this topic. Any pointers would be appreciated Cheers, Manu
edward
I'm not sure that it made it to the gold release. Probably aimed at the next production build at this point.
magneto
There is also: Powerful new visualization architecture: Intended to replace Guides framework Is this about digital asset guide framework or just the viewport guides? I thought maybe H14 allows Soft Transform SOP like visualization where it shows colors but doesn't override actual colors nor creates them if they don't exist. Thanks. edward
I think that's the new visualizer framework
Stalkerx777
If you attach a visualizer to a particular node, a couple of hidden spare parameters will be created on that node. One of them is vis_data string which contains JSON like description of visualizer. This can be is easily modified with python. In case of scene visualizers, i didn't find python access yet. asnowcappedromance
@Edward You're probably right, patience is a virtue @Alexey I haven't noticed the spare parms, will check it out tonight, thanks for the tip!
magneto
So basically they are not meant for HDAs but manual visualization of attributes? Edited January 16, 2015 by magneto
