Pyroclastic sim - Houdini 14

I am well aware of this thread (http://forums.odforce.net/topic/12717-high-resolution-explosion/?hl=pyroclastic), but I was unable to implement it correctly in Houdini 14. Seems like a lot changed under the hood in the newer (12+) smoke solver.

 

Doe anyone have a simple setup that works in H14 for doing this? How are people getting pyroclastic behavior these days?

I've done it by setting no Dissipation and using Sharpening, and pumping in densities. A bit of Turbulence and Confinement helps to shape the fine noise.

 

You might also try BFECC advection too?

I updated the file to h13 a time ago. Works also fine with H14. The advection mode is BFECC, with McCormack the results weren't that nice.

Hey Jason,

 

How are you pumping in densities? Are you advecting points in the sim and converting to density? Or you have some other method?
