charles62769
Ok here is my first question ever in a forum. I'm new to Houdini and I have fallen head over heals for it. I have an effect i have been thinking aobut achieving and that is a series of throbbing puss fille pimples where some burst and ozze a viscousiuos liquid. i know it sound gross but its for an effect in a short film were some one has a horrible infection. I just would like to know what direction to look in. I tried cloth and particles in Maya and that worked for one bump but I was looking for something in Houdini. edward
Maybe FEM and particles in Houdini? Check out Erik Ferguson's short film for inspiration on throbbing, disturbing things : and his other test videos too like:
Diego A Grimaldi
I agree with Edwars for the pimple...for the liquid I'd go with high viscosity flip...with lots of tweaking...you may wanna check out the CMIVFX tutorial for that if you are still getting comfortable with Houdini.. Good luck and feel free to post your scene so we can help out
charles62769
Thanks guys for the feedback. I'm watching the CMI tutorial and its awesome. Eric Fergusons's stuff is amazing. I have alot of trouble getting fems animated with modifiers too move. is eric rigging his stuff? it looks like ripples and turbulance. Still y fems stay stuck in the same place even with an animated rest.
