Juzwa
Hi, I made this setup couple weeks ago on apprentice licenced Houdini and it was working like I expected. Now I need to copy the setup on the new scene. I'm using commercial licence now so I cant just copy/paste nodes. The setup computes the velocity vector to be always directed along the path of the sourcing object. Thats all. Just couple of nodes so recreating setup took me 5 minutes. However the new setup behaves differently. I cannot get rid of the trail that is beeing generated. The old setup had the same issue but I managed to fix it by increaing the substeps of the dopnet (up to 4), but the new one does not response like that (even at substeps 16 it is leaking). This is how it looks like: What can cause the issue? How can I fix this? rtep
Hey I think what's going on is that even at higher substeps your vel volume isn't keeping up with the particles. Just unplug that yellow vel volume in the dop network and enable the velocity on the sourcevolume1 dop. Increase the scale velocity on it to 5 and you'll see that the flip particles inherit the vel pretty similarly to your original. It was even keeping up at 1 substep, though it is a little steppy.
