Mario Marengo
How can I install SSSpixar1.zip in houdini 10? I believe a version of those VOPs already exist in H10. Have a look at the "SSS Multiple" and "SSS Single" vops.

tomhanks
Hi, I am another noob on houdini, I came from Maya so I was used to Mental Ray. Now I am trying to learn how to use SSS on houdini, I got half way but there are somethings that I didn't get how to do on mantra. Now I am trying to achieve the effect of a subdermal and epidermal effect like in Mental Ray (like two levels of SSS on on top of the other)but I don't have an Idea how to do it. Did anyone tried to do this? Thanks
abvfx
Ive been skimming through here and has anyone mentioned the Skin shader that comes with Houdini? If your using 9.5 the shader wont work unless you remove the Hue Shift VOP and its parameters, since its broken. (i only just found this out) Anyway i did a quick test and whilst it isn't perfect, its a good step forward. and please disregard the quality of the model. Only spent a few nights on it. abvfx
I hope this thread isnt dead. The above image has been re-worked. Its working much better now. But also, ive been meaning to do a decent eye in Houdini, so i can actually add some human elements to my models. Here is my eye test. There arent any textures on the iris and sclera, its just a shading test. Edited April 24, 2010 by phrenzy84
