magneto
Hi, I am good at SOPs but with DOPs I have so many fundamental missing links. For example I don't know how microsolvers work and the DOPs in general beyond the simple evaluation order and things in isolation, i.e. particles, etc. I am not sure for example how you get something from one node to another using the data names as the Details View for DOPs is much different with nested hierarchies and the data names are not as intuitive as attribute names or node paths. For example not sure what's passed down to a SOP Solver DOP placed in the network. It's not like there is a line that connects the previous node to the SOP Solver DOP which becomes its input. There are some parameters but I don't know what you actually receive from the nodes that come before. It's all floating in my mind. If I could at least master this part, it will be such a big boost. But I have never seen any tutorial or material that explains these fundamentals. Everyone is talking about how to use pyro, smoke, etc but not the fundamentals of building up a network where you can modify anything and connect things to the right inputs in the right places. How did you guys master it? Thanks
Farmfield
Yep, following this thread & hoping for some insight - the alternative being diving into the SESI setups, trying to figure out how their math Ph.D's created them...
Guest tar
I can't remember which ones but Peter Quint runs through DOPs. https://sites.google.com/site/pqhoudinitutorial/home/videos-on-dynamics
