magneto
Hi, Anyone here uses SSDs on RAID 0 for improved read performance of large cache files? Something like this but smaller SSDs of course i.e. 120GB SSDs: Would something like this be a good investment to work with large cache files very quickly or is it worthless? You could probably get 24x 120GB SSDs for less than 2k. Is there anything better out there?
sekow
there is still the problem with network speed. I ve been to so many studios with fast servers but unbalanced networks... Edited July 5, 2015 by sekow
malexander
You'd probably be better off with a PCI-express or M.2 slot SSD, rather than fiddling around with RAID0. SATA 6Gb gets saturated pretty quickly.
