Erlich Bachman
Hi, guys! Maybe the answer to this question is very obvious for not a noob, but H-cloth has so many parameters so im probably missing something evident. How can I apply a force to a cloth object which will push it along its normals, to make it wrap around deforming rigid body? I know i can rescale rest geometry, but thats not exactly what i need...
Erlich Bachman
ok, i'v found this attribute, 'fexternal', assigned to it multiplied normals via vopsop in sopsovler, then combined femsolver and sopsolver via multisolver.but my plane do not move... fexternal.hipnc
sebkaine
Hi Sergej,be sure to use a build of h14 that has corrected the bug , cause fexternal was not working until recently.http://forums.odforce.net/topic/22715-fexternal-in-cloth-not-working/page-2?hl=fexternali think i would first give a try to a setup with a rest geo / target geo, and play with@targetP@targetv@targetstiffness@targetdampingcheersE
Erlich Bachman
Thanks for the info, sebkaine! I thought i was doing something wrong ) Edited July 8, 2015 by Erlich Bachman
jim c
Also be forewarned, that unless something has changed, many people were using H12.5 for cloth. Not sure if current builds of H14 have solved the issues, but since the move to the newer cloth sovler, it's gotten much slower and operated differently as well. Erlich Bachman
Yeah, Jim, I was aware of that, but it turned out that after remeshing my object, femsolver is not that slow, also considering it uses only one core and i can simulate multiple cloth object with the same speed (if they do not interact with each other). Unlike syflex in Softimage, which loads my cpu 95% on single object, so when i simulate like 4 pieces of cloth overall sim speed is going down drastically.
