hatrick
Hey, Is there a recomended workflow to simulate complex plant geometry. I.e. Wind blowing through the branches of multible trees. My attempt is to simulate a curve skeleton and wirecapture the highres geo afterwards. This works somehow but the wirecapture is very slow with heavy geometry ore lots of instances. SSFX
You might consider simulating only a couple of instances and scattering the simulated caches with time offsets across the surface you have to cover with plants. Other than that your workflow seems to makes sense. If you try to wire capture hires geo it will take a long time to compute. If the motion of the sim is not too crazy you might also try to transfer you sim over with the latice sop in point mode. Far from being the most accurate solution, it's still a lot faster than the capture workflow. Alex
hatrick
Thx SSFX, I used a lattice with a simple vopnoise and it works quite good. Here is a nice example of plantsims in H https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WuvbtXrWeGI. I wonder if the new crowd tech could be suitable for such purposes. Edited August 28, 2015 by hatrick
