Particle Attributes - New vs Old POPNETs

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am learning how to manipulate particles with attributes and I am following a tutorial that uses the old popnet paradigm.

My question is ... If I want to use the new popnet ... how do I pass custom attributes into the network ?

My source is set to 'All Points' - First Context - I have 'Inherit Attributes' set to ' * '.

I see the attribute in the spreadsheet, but I do not see the values getting transferred over.

In the old popnet system I could use an 'attribute' node with a point expression :

point("../../SOURCE", $ID - 1, "my_attribute", 0)

essentially copying/passing the attribute from SOPs to POPs ...

... but that node does not exist in the new popnet.

Thanks  for the help

hello

there are several nodes that are not available for new pop network in H 14 but are available for old pop network.

for example these nodes

-  Vector Up node

-  angvelocity node

that  I don't know what is its equivalent in new pop network.

hello

there are several nodes in Old pop that I can't find their equivalent  (or new method!)  in new Pop net.

for example attribute transfer in old pop ... how can I replicate it in new Pop net?

( please if you could help , there are others like the 2 of them from the previous post)

thank you in advance
