cwalrus
I have a ball. I throw ball. I turn ball into ball of snow; i.e. snowball. via POPGrains. The sim just drops the ball like a lead balloon at that point, rather than assume the trajectory etc of the animated obj. Any tips? thanks! ps interesting similar workflow here, but doesn't solve it: https://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&p=188751#188751
Rainroom
I believe you need to have initial velocity for it to work. Also, you can try the targetP attribute -which makes the grains to try and follow the animated geometry.
cwalrus
Could you tell me specifically how to set that up? Where do I put what node, etc...
Rainroom
There is an example file in the PBD help I believe.
kev2
The POP Grains help page has a KeyframedGrains example. It's instructive but fairly advanced set-up.
