MG
does anyone here have any experience about installing and loading SMP kernel for multiproc. AthlonMP machine for RH Linux 7.3? I never had, nor used, a multiprocessor system in my life. Maybe you should look this matter up at http://www.redhat.org? (or in Google perhaps)
stevenong
does anyone here have any experience about installing and loading SMP kernel for multiproc. AthlonMP machine for RH Linux 7.3? Hey Alex, It's all pretty automatic. After you install, the boot loader will allow you to load up either the smp or uniproc kernel. Of course, you can choose to boot up Windows as well. I hope the above helps! Cheers! steven
TheUsualAlex
Hmm.... unfortunately, I have to boot from floppy because Linux won't recognize my Promise ATA RAID drive... And since that's where the master boot partition is located... And speaking of that.... I think one of my CPU is dead or something... my BIOS only detected 1 CPU, not the usual 2... May be this was the reason why Linux can only load the uniproc kernel... sighed..... I am getting pretty tired of the computer issues sometimes.
