random flame emission?

HI - i have an object emitting nice flames. But I'd like the emission of the flame to be somewhat more random - the best way I can describe it would be to map a noise texture to the object, and have that texture affect the emission of the flames - (map it to the fuel?)

 

But I don't know how to go about this...

On the source fluid SOP there is a noise tab containing parameters to play with.
