Aeonx21
Hey, I've been out of Houdini for a bit and wanted to get back into it. I download the latest production build and started to play around in it. But the first thing that I notices was that when I rotate the camera (alt+drag) it imminently crashes. I am able to do basic work in Houdini without it crashing. I am on windows 10 if that matters. Has anyone seen this before/ know how to fix it? Aeonx21
After doing a bit more research it seems to happen when I try to "Show Handles" on any object on the object level. The Scene level seems to be fine. As long as I don't manipulate an object through the view port. Its still a big hindrance. I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this if anyone has seen it. Atom
Post your hardware settings in your signature. Are you sure your computer meets the minimum requirements to run Houdini? Also are you over clocking your motherboard? Edited January 21, 2016 by Atom
Aeonx21
I added my specs. I've been doing some basic simulations and everything is working fine. I just have to make sure I turn off "Show Handles" before I rotate the camera. Its a pretty consistent crash when I don't.
Atom
I experience similar crashes on OS with my MacMini which is under spec. I often just wok in wireframe mode and leave materials display off when using Houdini on that computer. The official hardware requirements page claims you need 2GB of VRAM to use Houdini so maybe that is why you are getting some crashes. You don't have enough VRAM memory. http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2680&Itemid=
