cwalrus
Hi guys - I've been looking all over, and can't find specific info for setting this up. There was this topic http://forums.odforce.net/topic/22240-ocean-float-workflow/but it suggests "VOP Trickery" which is beyond me. All I want to do is drag a boat through an ocean, and have it generate spray / foam etc where it contacts the ocean. I tried merging the ocean into the flat tank but I'm pushing buttons wrong, apparently. please help! There's an attached file with my current state of failure thanks! EDIT: cool, figured it out. Basically you create an ocean, and on the oceanEvaluate node you click Surface SDF and VElocity in Volumes tab. Then in the AutoDop for the Flattank, you use a source volume, point it at the ocean's final node, and choose Source VOlume = none, Temperature = none, Velocity = Add scale down the "scale velocity" However, NOW I need to figure out how to apply an ocean shader with the foam to the fluid in the Flat tank. Anyone? thanks! oceanTestFoam.hipnc Edited February 18, 2016 by cwalrus
cwalrus
To answer my own question, there is a "wave layer tank" and a "wave tank" on the Ocean FX shelf that gets you in that direction..... !
