6ril
Hi, a pretty basic question I guess, but searching the forum didn't return a proper answer, so here it is: I'm trying to learn houdini, so I'm constantly testing, to do so I start a new session of houdini. Many of the tests are creating some files on disk automatically, and that's my problem. The default location is C:/Users/Me/ Which is really not appropriate for me, I'd like to change that, without having to setup a full project and it's folder structure. Is that possible ? Most of the time I don't want to save a hip file of those test. thanks, and sorry if this is a recurrent topic that I couldn't find on the forum :/ Point me to the right thread if there's one, and delete this one. cyril. f1480187
For Windows, you can create a shortcut (or change existing, created by installation), and in shortcut's Properties, configure "Start in:" field. This will set your $JOB and $HIP variables when you'll launch shortcut. Check in Edit / Aliases and Variables... / Variables.
