cwalrus Posted March 10, 2016 Share Posted March 10, 2016 Hi peeps I am getting several shots of a truck driving that all need dust blowing behind them. I typically get the shot with no handles, and import it as an FBX. What's the best workflow for this ? 1- ask the animator to export with handles so I have more heads 2- build in handles (somehow?) in Houdini 3- pre-sim the dust sim somehow ? cwalrus Posted March 14, 2016 Author Share Posted March 14, 2016 Update: My current workaround is to pull the geo backwards manually, using the graph editor to estimate it's location. cwalrus Posted March 14, 2016 Author Share Posted March 14, 2016 It was easier than I thought - Frankly i was worried I'd have to go into CHOPS and figure out that 'extend existing keyframes backwards in time" workflow... but for a cloud sim it can be a little inaccurate, so this worked.
