Sim Pre-Run workflow....

Hi peeps

 

I am getting several shots of a truck driving that all need dust blowing behind them. I typically get the shot with no handles, and import it as an FBX.

What's the best workflow for this ? 

 

1- ask the animator to export with handles so I have more heads

2- build in handles (somehow?) in Houdini

3- pre-sim the dust sim somehow ? Is there some sort of pre run of which I'm unaware?

It was easier than I thought - 

Frankly i was worried I'd have to go into CHOPS and figure out that 'extend existing keyframes backwards in time" workflow... but for a cloud sim it can be a little inaccurate, so this worked.
